Applied Research Services Ltd

In 1987 Wayne Webley opened a scientific consultancy service based in Nelson undertaking a variety of work including commissioning laboratories, chemical consulting and product inspection services. In 1989 the opportunity arose to lease a heater testing facility at the Cawthron Institute. As the Cawthron expanded it needed the space and we moved the facility to its present site in Tahunanui

In 1993 Applied Research Services was incorporated and this took over Wayne's consultancy in 1994. The business has expanded since then to offer a range of product testing and environmental monitoring services to customers throughout New Zealand and increasingly to customers overseas.

Applied Research Services currently has nine staff covering a range of disciplines. It operates from two buildings located in Tahunanui, Nelson, New Zealand which contain the offices, laboratories and test rigs required for the work carried out.
